Information about the Artist Artist: Victoria M. Biel Parents: Mark & Margie Biel Senior, Ellsworth High School Art Teacher: Mrs. Hanson Artist's Statement and Connection to Dairy Cows: My cow is spotted with wood violets as they are the state flower for Wisconsin, representative of it being dairy month. My family always looks to see whether or not the cows are lying down because if they are, then supposedly it will rain. This has provided hours of discussion for our family!
Future Plans: Attend UW-Madison next year and major in architectural engineering.
Fun Facts The average milk production per Wisconsin cow each year is 17,367 pounds (or 2,019 gallons). That's enough for 3,756 glasses of milk from just one cow! Pierce County's on-farm production and sale of milk accounts for $47.3 million in economic activity annually. |
